‘At This Moment’ explores the inherit wisdom of being human. By immersing myself in the theories of anthroposophy and the idea of personal memory, these paintings occupy a place within that is present but not seen. By immersing myself wholly into a viscera of place, a person, an object or a mood, I connect to what I receive through colour. My painting is a language to explore the emotions of what it is to live within a colour.

My education began at the Rudolf Steiner School in New York City, where the pedagogy cultivates imagination and creativity. The resonance of this philosophy was centred by a connection with nature and all her expression, and that colour itself holds spiritual powers.

I am drawn to pigment powders as they hold a presence and vital energy within the medium through translucent qualities that are dreamlike. The pigments have allowed me to explore an in-depth study of a particular colour by layering the pigment to create mood and energy.

My connection to art is cellular, it is only when I begin a painting, and I deeply feel it, that I am then able to go further. But that is also how my life and practice has been so far layers of discovery.

My process is a sensory journey where each piece holds a life force. Each work begins as a personal memory, and moves from the sensory to the canvas. The work invites the viewer to lose themselves within the colour of the painting and to explore the feelings evoked by what living in the colour which surrounds us means to them.

I know a piece is finished when the resonance of memory is one that gives healing and ultimately transformation.
